Proposed Expansion Concept
The addition will double our meeting space & allow more community service events to take place at Oviedo Memorial Post 243. The additional square footage provides Legionnaires room to assist more veterans, service members, their families & the community in a central air-conditioned location. We look forward to being able to invite more people to participate in our events.
The initial concept for the additional space includes higher ceilings to reduce noise levels, connection to existing structure to allow logical use of the extension, increased disabled access, and room for an additional 60 people. Greenspace around the addition will be preserved to combat air and noise pollution, soak up rainwater reducing flooding, maintain a habitat for local wildlife, and lift morale in the people who see it, which calms traffic and lessens urban crime. The initial estimate is $300,000
