Who are we?
American Legion Oviedo Memorial Post 243 chartered a cruisers chapter to bring together members of the American Legion, the Sons of the American Legion, and the American Legion Auxiliary who share a passion for classic, antique, and custom muscle sports cars and trucks, all in a commitment to service.
Our Mission
- Promote the programs and membership of the American Legion, the Sons of the American Legion, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
- Promote public awareness of the AL, SAL, and ALA by participating in parades, ceremonies, fundraisers, outreach to veterans at senior assisted care residences, and other community activities.
- Promote vehicle safety.
- Provide a social atmosphere for the American Legion. SAL and ALA members who share an interest in their distinctive vehicles.
- Interact with other veterans, organizations, and groups that promote the concerns and causes of veterans.
Who can Join?
Membership is open to all members in good standing of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, and American Legion Auxiliary.
Members should be owners or be authorized to drive distinctive vehicles consistent with the Cruisers Chapter's objects, including classic, antique, custom, muscle, sports cars and truck
Chapter Officers
Officers & Responsibilities
- Director- Mike Ungerman; presides overall meetings; represents the cruisers chapter to post leadership; forces, bylaws, and authorizes activities.
- Asst. Director-Milton Taylor; acts as director in absence; oversees event, coordination and safety compliance.
- Secretary- Elton Hogan; records minutes, maintains membership records, and copies to the post adjutant.
- Treasurer- Alex MacMillan; works directly with the Post finance officer to transmit all events, proceeds, maintain financial logs, and prepare reimbursement forms per post procedures.
- Sergeant-at-Arms- Moe Boetto; maintains order at meetings and events and ensures proper flag etiquette.
- Public Relations Officer- Don Kirkendall; coordinates outreach through the Post PR team and manages American Legion cruisers and social media.
